There are two types of Mooring buoys that the Port Manager license and regulates. Refer to the application form (provide link) for the specific requirements to attach with your application.
a) Commercial Mooring buoy- For those who intend to install and operate a mooring buoy specifically to support its business operations should apply for a commercial mooring buoy.
b) Private Mooring Buoy- For those interested in installing a mooring buoy apart for any other reason from business operations should apply for a Private mooring buoy.
The license shall be for a period of 1 year and is charged according to the type of mooring buoy to be installed and the length of the vessel(s) to be calling in. Please refer to Gazettal notice G287 (provide link) for information on the fees.
Upon completion of the Mooring buoy construction, the proponent should then apply for a license from the Port Manager to operate the Mooring buoy.
