Entities and Authorities are bestowed with legal responsibilities and are responsible for port and shipping operations. These agencies plays a major role in PNG Maritime Transport sector and PNGHMS requires their clearance and approval in various regulated activities. There are;

a)      National Maritime Safety Authority- (NMSA)

b)      Department of Transport- (DoT)

c)       National Agriculture Quarantine Inspection Authority- (NAQIA)

d)      PNG Customs

e)      Conservation Environment Protection Authority- (CEPA)

f)       Department of Lands and Physical Planning- (DLPP)

              g)    Department of Labor and Industry
